What can be weirder that the idea of race? A concept that hasn’t existed in the world for even a millennium and yet has been part of a foundational system of capitalism, and many other global advancements for centuries. “BLXCK Uncanny: Tales of the Black + the Weird” is an exhibition in response to the times we are in.

Chicago-based trumpeter Emily Kuhn brings her quintet to Krannert Center Uncorked, as part of the 2025 CU Jazz Festival. Her quintet will be performing new original compositions and music from Kuhn's recent release, "Ghosts of Us." The album draws inspiration from the natural world, science fiction, and the Covid-19 pandemic.
