Dr. Mariana Fragoso Rentas is a Brazilian veterinarian, professor, researcher, and specialist in companion animal nutrition. She earned her DVM, Master’s, and PhD in Animal Nutrition and Production from the School of Veterinary Medicine and Animal Science of the University of São Paulo (FMVZ-USP), with a strong focus on companion animal nutrition. Her professional experience spans clinical nutrition, small animal medicine, university teaching, scientific research, and technical training in the pet food industry. She currently serves as a university professor in Brazil and is the Director of the Veterinary Teaching Hospital at UNINTA Fortaleza.

Cats have unique nutritional requirements that are often misunderstood or oversimplified. In this session, Dr. Rentas will revisit the foundations of feline nutrition, discuss common misconceptions, and examine how modern research is influencing approaches to long-term feline health and wellbeing.
