Decoding the Pet Microbiome: From Lab Tools to Real Life Impact
We are pleased to invite you to a free live webinar featuring Jonathan Turck from Texas A&M University.
Date: Tuesday, October 6, 2026
Time: 3:00 – 4:00 PM CT
Format: Live Online WebinarJonathan Turck is a third-year PhD student and Bioinformatics Graduate Research Assistant at the Gastrointestinal Laboratory at Texas A&M University. He earned his Bachelor’s degree in Biology with a minor in Bioinformatics from Texas A&M, and his research combines biological and data-driven approaches to better understand the pet microbiome. His work focuses on microbial bioinformatics and the development of machine learning-based biomarkers aimed at improving clinical care and advancing reproducible microbiome testing.
The pet microbiome has become one of the fastest-growing areas in animal health and nutrition research, but understanding how laboratory findings translate into practical applications can be challenging. In this session, Jonathan will explore the tools and technologies used to study the microbiome, discuss how data science and machine learning are shaping the field, and highlight how these discoveries may impact future approaches to companion animal health and clinical care.
