The United Nations proclaimed the International Day of the World's Indigenous People in 1994 to commemorate the achievements and contributions of Indigenous People worldwide. In honor of this day, Native American House Ambassadors, David Eby (Choctaw Nation of Oklahoma/Muscogee Creek; Doctoral Student, School of Information Sciences) and Yanaba Schroeder (Navajo; Undergraduate Student, Major: Human Development and Family Studies, Minor: American Indian Studies) will lead an educational program about smudging practices and Native Peoples’ relationship to frybread. All are welcome, lunch is provided.
