Vincent Magnotta, Professor and Carl L. Gillies Chair, Dept. of Radiology, University of Iowa will lecture on "Recent Findings in Bipolar Disorder Using Neuroimaging."
Abstract: This talk will discuss recent findings into bipolar disorder using neuroimaging approaches. The findings will cover structural, functional, and metabolic changes observed as well as changes associated with mood. In addition, the use of machine learning to identify subjects with bipolar disorder using a combination of neuroimaging measures will be covered. Finally, the talk will also discuss recent efforts to undertake a longitudinal study of bipolar disorder using mobile technologies to identify mood changes who will then be brought back for additional neuroimaging assessment.
