Anjelica Jones, IU junior in Sound Design and Technology, and Isabelle Dizon, UI junior in Graphic Design, have been friends since the 8th grade and have always shared a background in art. In high school they were accepted to the CPS All-City Visual Art exhibition, and in 2020, Dizon was a featured illustrator for a reprint of the book Holler If You Hear Me: The Education of a Teacher and His Students by Gregory Michie and Ryan Alexander-Tanner. Both artists are inspired by their friends, family, and popular media, as well as by each other. For Jones and Dizon, Sunkissed Sonder is about "the importance of seeing women who look like us in the world around us," and "exploring and celebrating what it means to be a minority through our eyes"
Opening Reception: Thursday, Feb 2 from 4:30-6:30 pm in the Illini Union Art Gallery
