The Rare Book & Manuscript Library is teaming up with the Ricker Library and Champaign Public Library for a virtual crafty event! Interested in learning about medieval manuscripts? In this class, we'll go over what a medieval manuscript is and how they are created. This includes talking about making parchment, ink, and quills, as well as a calligraphy lesson. Crafters of all skill levels are welcome, materials are limited, so please act quickly if you're interested!
- Registration opens October 1 at 9:00 am through CPL's website. Registration is required.
- Craft kits including a cut quill pen and pot of ink are available for pickup at Champaign Public Library starting October 1 at 9:00am, and are first come-first served while supplies last. (*Please note: kits are not available for pickup in RBML or Ricker, only at CPL.)
- The Zoom link will be emailed to all registrants a minimum of 24 hours prior to the event.
