While the rate of mental illness among black Americans parallels that of the general population, cultural stigma associated with mental illness and a lack of access to resources often result in disparities in care. Five expert clinicians will address Black Mental Health Matters during a panel discussion and question-and-answer session sponsored by the Student National Medical Association chapter at Carle Illinois College of Medicine, University of Illinois Urbana-Champaign. The virtual event is free and open to the public.
