Title: Linear and Non-Linear Strong Data Processing with Applications to Quantum Privacy
Abstract: This talk will provide an overview of linear and non-linear strong data processing inequalities (SDPI) that can be utilized in quantum information processing as a strengthening of data processing inequality for quantum divergences. Then, I will introduce a framework for ensuring privacy for quantum states and show how SDPI of private channels with related to a specific divergence can be utilized to understand the privacy level and the mixing times of quantum states. This talk is based on arXiv:2512.16778, which is a joint work with Ian George and Christoph Hirche.
This is the weekly seminar of the Quantum Working Group in the Department of Mathematics. For questions, please reach out to Marius Junge, Gabriele La Nave, Felix Leditzky, or Amanda Young.
