Abstract
In 2009, genomic testing allowed dairy bull breeders to almost double their rate of genetic improvement. Yet, while genetic improvements grew, so did the rate of inbreeding among dairy bulls. In this very rough theory model, I attempt to model how this technology increase the returns to inbreeding and result in lower welfare overall.
