Lecture/discussion: The Pilsen Center for Oral Health Promotion: A Community-based Approach to Addressing Holes in the Safety-Net

Speaker: Patrick Smith, DMD, MPH

Learning Objectives:

  • Discuss the rationale for community-based, institutional partnerships for oral health prevention among underserved populations.
  • Describe the purpose of the community-based approach at the Pilsen Center for Oral health Promotion.
  • Describe the care delivery model at the Pilsen Center for Oral Health Promotion.
  • Examine the potential impact of the Pilsen Center for Oral Health Promotion on the community served, as well as on UIC College of Dentistry.


Eligible for one (1) CE credit. Open to all faculty. Free to attend. No relevant financial relationships to disclose.
