Lecture/discussion: Recent Challenges to Fluoride and Fluoridation: What to Tell Students and Patients

Speaker: Scott Tomar, DMD, DrPH

Learning Objectives:

  • Identify recent federal and state challenges to community water fluoridation and the use of fluoride dental products.
  • Describe the strength of evidence supporting claims of adverse effects of fluoride exposure in the United States.
  • List at least 3 points to communicate with dental students and patients regarding the safety of fluorides.


Eligible for one (1) CE credit. Open to all. Free to attend. No relevant financial relationships to disclose.
