Classroom observation is the most familiar and used form in the peer review process; however, it is most prone to reliability problems and criticisms. These issues can be attributed to inexperienced observers, inherent biases, and poor data collection. Join us as we address these problems and practice a more reliable and valuable peer observation for both the observee and the observer.
This hand-on workshop will be especially useful for faculty members and academic professionals in Mathematics who conduct peer evaluations for mentoring and P&T. --- Please RSVP by email to Richard Laugesen Laugesen@illinois.edu so that we know how many copies of the materials to prepare.
