Equivariant localization on singular spaces
Abstract: This is the first part of a two part talk. I will begin by giving an overview of various instances of equivariant localization, with some explicit examples in various geometric settings to develop some intuition. I will then sketch a proof of localization using analytic techniques, highlighting some connections to ideas from physics such as supersymmetry. In part two, I want to talk about problems in generalizing some ideas to singular spaces, but am open to discussing other aspects based on participant questions.
