Increasingly we recognize the importance of the circumstellar environments of supernovae for understanding how those events manifest, how dust formation occurs, how material is mixed into the interstellar medium, etc.. The environments supernova explode in are created during the pre-supernova evolution of massive stars. Unfortunately, most data on supernovae progenitors are gathered post-hoc from serendipitous observations. We should be able to learn much more through a dedicated program to watch progenitors for long periods before they supernova. A survey of that type also has the potential to catch S Doradus outbursts, supernova impostors, and other interesting events in the evolution of the most massive stars. Starting in 2012, the Luminous Stars Survey of M31 and M33 has gathered regular multi-color photometry of the most luminous stars in those galaxies, measuring the baseline behavior for the progenitor of the next supernova those galaxies will host.
