Vesak is the birthday of the Buddha and the most important festival in Buddhism. On the first full moon day in May, Buddhists all over the world celebrate the birth, enlightenment and death of the Buddha. Buddhist employees observing Vesak may be assemling in their temples before dawn for the ceremonial hoisting of the Buddhist flag and the singing of hymns, and some students or employees may request schedule adjustments in order to observe.
