This interactive session will provide tools to create a virtual or in-person classroom that is conducive to accessibility and inclusivity. Your role in planning and determining content for your class, along with assumptions and choices we make as teachers, influence a student’s sense of belonging. This session will delve into strategies and perspectives to create the right conditions to make your course a learning community and welcoming environment.
This workshop is part of the What You Need to Know: Essentials of Course Design summer series. You may sign up for any or all of the workshops in the series using the registration form. If you register, you'll eventually be added to a Canvas course to help follow along with the series.
This workshop counts towards the Graduate Teacher Certificate or the Certificate in Foundations of Teaching.
