The Office of the Vice Chancellor for Diversity, Equity & Inclusion is proud to cosponsor Global Accessibility Awareness Day (GAAD) 2024 on May 16, 2024, hosted by the University of Minnesota in collaboration with with people and institutions around the globe. Join us for this 100% online event based on the theme “Built Without Barriers.”
GAAD 2024 will include:
- Keynote presentation from Ashley Shew, Associate Professor at Virginia Tech and author of the book Against Technoableism. Her current research is about disabled expertise and disability-led narratives about technologies (in contrast to the tropey stories we usually get).
- Several breakout sessions in 4 broad tracks:
- Digital content
- Organizational success
- Community and partners
- Teaching and learning
