VPATs are often created by vendors in order to advertise the accessibility of their products for persons with disabilities, and we should ask for them as a matter of course when purchasing software. VPATs are a useful indicator of the accessibility of a product and the vendor’s knowledge of accessibility practices, but interpreting VPATs takes a bit of know how.
