Illinois State Geological Survey Events (other)

Staff members from ISGS will be running an educational station at Dive In!, an annual event sponsored by Illinois EPA and Illinois DNR that travels throughout the state to teach students about the importance of protecting and conserving our precious natural resources. Fifth and sixth graders from local Chicago Public Schools and surrounding communities have been invited to attend this outdoor stewardship day of exploring, learning, and experiencing the wonders of the natural world. In 2026, Dive In! events will be held at William W. Powers State Recreation Area in Chicago and Lake Murphysboro State Park in Murphysboro.
