Join us for this dynamic binational lecture series exploring pressing global challenges through the perspectives of Mexico and the United States. Development and the Global Agenda brings together faculty and students from the University of Colima and the University of Illinois System to examine key cross cutting issues such as environmental sustainability, human rights, gender, and social justice.

A special highlight of this series is the active participation of University of Illinois students, who will engage directly with international scholars, contribute to dialogue across borders, and help shape conversations on today’s most urgent global issues. This exchange offers a meaningful opportunity for students to expand their global perspective, strengthen their academic profiles, and take part in sustained international collaboration.

The series features eight lectures, four presented by faculty from the University of Colima and four by faculty from the University of Illinois System, fostering comparative and interdisciplinary perspectives on development in a global context.
