Lecture Description:
This talk discusses research ethics and the politics of research in relation to writing new histories of Global Africa, with special focus on women, gender, and sexualities. Given the history of unethical research practices of African people on the continent and the diaspora together with the uncertainties of our times, the presentation emphasizes the necessity of African/ Africana studies scholars to promote socially responsible scholarship committed to advancing the freedom and well-being of African descended people globally.
