Solid-state lithium-ion batteries (SSLBs) offer improved safety and the potential for high energy density, yet their thermal behavior under realistic operating conditions remains insufficiently understood. This talk presents an operando calorimetry framework to directly quantify reversible and irreversible heat generation in SSLBs using high-sensitivity heat flux sensors. By coupling precision heat-flow measurements with simultaneous electrochemical data across different current densities, the method resolves how interfacial resistance growth, contact evolution, and transport limitations in solid electrolytes shape the heat signature. The results demonstrate the feasibility of real-time thermal characterization for predicting efficiency and identifying degradation pathways in solid-state systems.
