One of the wonderful things about working in academia is the freedom to pursue the research topics that are most interesting to you. At the same time, picking just a few big questions to focus on can be challenging. In this talk, Cassandra Troy will describe a number of avenues for narrowing a down a broad interest to a specific focus while still leaving room for collaborations with others. She will walk through her own process of moving from general work on environmental communication to focused research on a range of positive climate communication strategies. Attendees will hear about her recent research findings and will be invited to discuss their own research journeys.
