Algebraic theories in the classical sense parameterize types of algebraic structure on sets.
I'll discuss a variant of this notion for algebraic structures on spectra, and a new example of such a structure
that can be constructed from this perspective: a version of "synthetic E_infty-rings", which is closely related to
the even filtration of E_infty-rings, Rezk's T-algebras, and Bachmann-Hoyois's normed motivic spectra.
