Religious Observances

The Jewish Festival of Lights, celebrating the Jewish rebellion against the Greeks and the rededication of the temple in Jerusalem. Often celebrated by lighting candles each night, singing special songs, reciting prayers, eating foods fried in oil (such as latkes, sufganiyot, and dairy foods), playing the dreidel game, and giving Chanukah gelt. Begins at sundown of the first day and ends at sundown of the last day. Some employees may request scheduling accommodations in order to observe.
