Abstract:

Software defined vehicles has been well known and well-practiced in the auto industry over the last decade. With the maturity of OTA (over-the-air) technologies, the rapid progress of developing and development of ADAS/autonomy in mass produced vehicles, and more importantly, the recent advances in generative AI, we are witnessing another major shift of vehicular technology development toward AI defined vehicles. In this talk, we will discuss the inevitability of the arrival of the era of AI defined vehicles, the technology challenges and opportunities coming with it, and the role that automotive companies and technology companies, like NVIDIA, can play to accelerate this massive shift.

Bio:

Xinzhou Wu is VP of Automotive at NVIDIA, as well as a member of the executive staff. He leads strategy, product planning, and engineering execution for the automotive business, partnering with auto OEMs to enable autonomy in mass production vehicles around the world and to improve the user experience for automotive customers with both in-vehicle and in-cloud AI technologies from NVIDIA.

Previously, Dr. Wu led XPENG Motor's Autonomous Driving Center for five years, with a team of 1000+ members across the US and China. He was responsible for strategy, product and technology planning, and execution for XPENG’s autonomous driving products. His team delivered advanced autonomous driving solutions in multiple vehicle platforms which are recognized as best in class, and significantly accelerated the adoption of high level autonomous driving technologies in the China market. Prior to XPENG, Dr. Wu led Qualcomm’s autonomous driving team.Dr. Wu received a B.S. degree from Tsinghua University, as well as M.S. and Ph.D. degrees from University of Illinois at Urbana-Champaign, all in electrical engineering. He holds 250+ issued US patents.
