As part of our overall COVID-19 safety precautions, the University of Illinois at Urbana-Champaign is implementing multiple layers of support to maintain a safe work environment for employees and students. Dr. Michael Schlosser, Ph.D., from the Police Training Institutes (PTI), will share his research in communication skills necessary to avoid escalation in potentially intensifying circumstances. Participants will learn verbal and non-verbal skills for de-escalating potentially violent encounters.
Whether you will be monitoring access to your unit as a Wellness Support Associate or you just want to learn about the new campus requirements, this training will cover COVID-19 campus requirements for staff and students, describe the Safer Illinois app and boarding pass function and provide you with campus resources for COVID-19.
