“Inclusive and Ethical” stands as one of the four pillars of our newly adopted teaching excellence guidelines, yet it can be one of the most challenging to implement. This workshop will help you apply the Universal Design for Learning (UDL) framework to reduce barriers in instruction and diversify the ways your students engage with you, their peers, and your course content. The workshop’s emphasis will be on moving from principles to practice in practical, tangible ways: by designing learning activities and assessments that meet students’ diverse learning strategies, by presenting course content in ways that support students’ different learning styles and abilities, and by providing greater latitude in the way students demonstrate their knowledge and skills.
This workshop counts towards the Graduate Teacher Certificate, The Technology-Enhanced Teaching Certificate or the Certificate in Foundations of Teaching.
