FLORAL RESOURCE PREFERENCE, OCCUPANCY, AND DETECTION OF BUMBLEBEE SPECIES IN NORTHEASTERN ILLINOIS
Many pollinator populations, including bumblebees, are declining, and effective monitoring programs are needed to understand habitat preferences and occupancy to guide conservation management. For bumblebee populations in NE Illinois, I use compositional analysis to identify and explore the spatio-temporal dynamics driving foraging habitat preference for six common bumblebee species. I also use occupancy modelling with imperfect detection to identify optimal survey efforts for three common bumblebee species.
