Abstract: Evolutionary biologists have long sought to understand how various evolutionary forces contribute to trait variation in nature. A crucial part of this endeavor is understanding the evolution of trait responses to the environment ('phenotypic plasticity'). In this talk, I will discuss three ways my lab is approaching this topic with:
- gene expression plasticity in response to herbicide,
- links between gene expression plasticity and sequence variation, and
- phenotypic and genetic sequence variation in a cosmopolitan urban weed.
