Quality sleep is an essential component of physical and mental well-being. Mind-body practices can be utilized to promote and improve sleep quality. Join us for an interactive session with Stephanie Voss for an overview of sleep biology, the importance of sleep routines, and specific mind-body strategies to enhance sleep.

Voss is a PhD Candidate in the Department of Health & Kinesiology. She is a yogi and occupational therapist. Today, Voss’s research at the College of Applied Health Sciences merges the two: How might yoga be used to manage lasting pain?

A partnership between the Illinois Extension and the Interdisciplinary Health Sciences Institute, the Community Seminar Series provides educational seminars of interest to the community each fall, spring, and summer, delivered virtually by graduate students and postdoctoral research trainees. The Community Seminar Series covers health topics driven by public interest, helping attendees make healthier choices and overcome public health misinformation.

CEUs through the Continuing Education Institute of Illinois (CEII) are available.
