The Qualitative Research Initiative (QRI) Storytelling Series features the stories of faculty from across campus who are teaching, employing, and developing novel qualitative research techniques. The series seeks to highlight the journeys of our faculty – what led them here to UIUC – and take a deeper dive into the innovative methods they are applying in their current research.
The QRI is proud to host Dr. Jacinda Dariotis, Director of the Family Resiliency Center and Professor in Human Development and Family Studies, as our storyteller for March. Dr. Dariotis researches ways to facilitate greater alignment between one’s intentions and behaviors to promote well-being. She investigates biosocial determinants of risk-taking, decision-making, stress responsivity and coping, and prevention and intervention programs. She addresses “wicked” problems through whole person research integrating theoretical and methodological approaches across many disciplines—public health, prevention science, biostatistics, evaluation and implementation sciences, behavioral endocrinology, and developmental psychopathology.
