Center for Innovation in Teaching & Learning

Join us for a two-part, hands-on workshop series focused on creating effective, engaging, and inclusive Canvas courses. Whether you're new to Canvas or looking to rethink your course design, this series will guide you through foundational principles and practical tools to elevate your online teaching.

Part 1: Canvas Course Design Fundamentals
In this session, we’ll explore core course design principles, like backwards design, and apply them to building or rethinking your Canvas course. You’ll learn how to organize content, streamline navigation, and use Canvas tools to support inclusive and engaging teaching practices.

Part 2: Enhancing Navigation and Visual Design with DesignPLUS
Take your course to the next level with the DesignPLUS suite of tools in Canvas. This hands-on session will introduce the DesignPLUS Sidebar for styling content and the Multi-Tool for quickly scaffolding your course with consistent, accessible design. Expect plenty of opportunities for active learning, questions, and troubleshooting.
