You've written a strong proposal. Now make sure it actually gets through.
Submission is where many SBIR/STTR applicants run into unexpected roadblocks: missing registrations, unfamiliar portals, formatting errors, and last minute technical issues that can put months of work at risk. Join the Illinois FAST Center for a hands-on webinar that walks you through the process step by step, so you can submit with confidence.
Led by Heidi Platt, President of Platinum Grants & Proposals and an IL FAST Center consultant who regularly guides clients through federal submissions, this session will cover:
- The registrations you need to complete before submitting, and how far in advance to start
- A live walkthrough of the NIH, NSF, and DoD submission portals
- Common submission pitfalls and how to avoid them
With NSF's November deadline approaching, it's the perfect time to get your submission plan in place.

The Small Business Innovation Research (SBIR) and Small Business Technology Transfer (STTR) programs are highly competitive programs that encourage domestic small businesses to engage in Federal Research/Research and Development (R/R&D) with the potential for commercialization. Through a competitive awards-based program, SBIR and STTR enable small businesses to explore their technological potential and provide the incentive to profit from its commercialization. By including qualified small businesses in the nation's R&D arena, high-tech innovation is stimulated, and the United States gains entrepreneurial spirit as it meets its specific research and development needs.
