Illinois faculty interested in expanding their international research collaborations are invited to learn more about Avanza UC, a collaborative seed funding opportunity between the University of Illinois Urbana-Champaign and Pontificia Universidad Católica de Chile (UC Chile), a fellow Universitas 21 (U21) member.
Open to faculty across all disciplinary and interdisciplinary fields, Avanza UC supports collaborative research between Illinois and UC Chile researchers, with particular interest in innovative projects addressing major societal and global challenges. Selected projects may receive funds for projects lasting up to 18 months.
During this webinar, representatives from Illinois and UC Chile will provide an overview of the program, including eligibility and proposal requirements, funding and matching expectations, project timelines, and institutional commitments. Participants will also learn about resources available to help identify potential collaborators at UC Chile and receive guidance on developing a competitive proposal.
The session will conclude with an open Q&A and is especially encouraged for faculty interested in developing new collaborations in Chile and Latin America, expanding existing international research networks, or using seed funding to lay the groundwork for longer-term research partnerships.
