Join our team of SBIR experts and the FAST (Federal and State Technology) Center of Illinois for an SBIR/STTR webinar event from 2:00-3:00pm on July 21st, 2026.

This session will cover how to successfully apply for DoW (Department of War) SBIR/STTR funding, from understanding agency priorities and eligibility requirements to crafting a compelling proposal. We will also take a closer look at SBIR proposals facing Technical Assault Kit (TAK), highlighting specific considerations for companies developing solutions in this space. Whether you are new to DoW SBIR/STTR or looking to strengthen a resubmission, this webinar is designed to help you navigate the process with confidence and improve your chances of securing an award.

Featured Speaker: Alex Gorsuch, Principal Architect at WearTAK.

Alex previously served as Visiting Associate Director of Entrepreneurship at the Illinois FAST Center. He is currently working at WearTAK where he stewarded over $7.3M in non-dilutive R&D funding to ensure the WearTAK system remains free to all public safety and warfighters, forever. In this session, Alex will share his firsthand experience navigating the SBIR/STTR process, with particular insights into TAK-related technologies, and offer practical guidance to help attendees build stronger proposals.

This is a free, virtual event, but registration is required. The link to the webinar will be emailed to you upon completion of your registration. Recording Notice: By registering for this webinar, you acknowledge and agree that it will be recorded and shared online for public viewing.

The Small Business Innovation Research (SBIR) and Small Business Technology Transfer (STTR) programs are highly competitive programs that encourage domestic small businesses to engage in Federal Research/Research and Development (R/R&D) with the potential for commercialization. Through a competitive awards-based program, SBIR and STTR enable small businesses to explore their technological potential and provide the incentive to profit from its commercialization. By including qualified small businesses in the nation's R&D arena, high-tech innovation is stimulated, and the United States gains entrepreneurial spirit as it meets its specific research and development needs.
