Abstract: Relative entropy of coherence is one of the central quantities in quantum resource theory. I will begin by discussing the optimal success probability for discriminating geometrically uniform ensembles, which motivates a variational formula for the sandwiched Rényi relative entropy of coherence, and then describe applications of this formula.
Bio: Stephen Zhou is a 5th year PhD student in mathematics in Felix Leditzky's research group studying quantum Shannon theory with representation theoretic methods and sample complexity of quantum algorithms.
