Quantum Teleportation with a Nonlinear Bell State Measurement

Abstract: Entangled pairs are a vital resource in quantum information processing. Teleportation can transmit entanglement long distances with low loss. Furthermore, a teleportation device can also combine two nondeterministic entanglement sources into a more favorable heralded source. One of the most common entangled photon pair sources is spontaneous parametric down conversion (SPDC). However, SPDC sources have multipair components in their outputs that become problematic when multiple sources are combined. A teleportation scheme with linear elements will fail half the time from these events. It has been proposed that a sum-frequency generation device be included to filter unbalanced inputs from multiple pairs to fix this issue. We aim to demonstrate this protocol using our InGaP ring resonators to teleport time-bin encoded states on photons.

Student Information: Joshua Akin a second-year graduate student working on integrated nonlinear quantum photonics with Prof. Kejie Fang in the ECE department.
