As summer starts to wind down, take time to enjoy the season’s natural beauty with a guided hike through Allerton. Staff member Olivia Bunting will lead participants along the Buck Schroth (Red) Trail through views of the Sangamon River, wooded areas, and one of Illinois’ oldest prairie restoration sites.
The hike will begin at 7 a.m. and be about a 3-mile loop. Sunscreen and bug spray are recommended. Parking is available at the Buck Schroth trailhead.
