Abstract: I will discuss why I made the career change from academic physics to bedside nursing, how I did it, and what my day to day is like.
Bio: Courtney Krafczyk received a B.S. in physics from the University of Louisville in 2011 and a Ph.D. in physics from the University of Illinois in 2019. She then completed her M.S. in nursing from the University of Illinois in 2022. Since then she has worked as a registered nurse on the postpartum unit at Carle Foundation Hospital in Urbana, where she cares for new babies and new parents.
