Abstract: In this talk, I'll discuss my personal journey from an experimental physicist in quantum info to a software engineer in robotic piece-picking solutions. I'll emphasize why I chose this career, how grad school prepared me well for the startup life, and what "extracurricular" work I did on the side to improve my chances at success (for both my job search and my job performance). Finally, I'll discuss a bit what "robotic piece-picking solutions" means and what a day in the life is for me.
