Changing the Future of Medicine through Anti-Racism Education with Kaytlin Reedy-Rogier, St. Louis Integrated Health Network, Instructor of Medicine at Washington University School of Medicine

Kaytlin was awarded the 2020 Diversity & Social Justice Education Social Justice Outstanding Alumna Award.  Kaytlin is a social worker in St. Louis who helps medical students build more compassion into their curricula.  She has a background in social justice education and was one of the first Social Justice Educators at the University of Illinois.  In her life outside of work, she has a partner of 15 years (also U of I alum), 2 little boys, and 2 corgis.  Her hobbies include getting a brief reprieve from her family by riding her moped through Forest Park.

In this presentation, we'll discuss the move from race-based to race-conscious medicine and how one institution is working to grapple with shifting a culture steeped in white supremacy.  The discussion will center around the challenges of confronting these issues and the resilience of a new generation of physician. Link to Register
