The Student Wellness Community Calendar is updated weekly to provide health, wellness, and well-being resources that are available through both or campus and greater community. We will be adding Illinois student curated resources aimed at the 8-dimensions of wellness.  This calendar is packed with opportunities from classes on stress management, to adult social dance classes, and workshops covering therapeutic arts. Find information on upcoming fun runs, and athletic events. Explore what it means for you to “be-well Illinois”.

If you like deliberative talking, mirth, and music, then this is the evening for you. Topics will include, but not be limited to: beef, comportment, eggs, bacon, pork, breakfast, barbecue, steak, meat, and Illinois Kabuki Theatre. If the evening is light on dance, the audience has only themselves to blame.

Nick Offerman, a University of Illinois Alum, is generously performing a show at Foellinger Auditorium on the campus of the University of Illinois as a fundraiser for an Annex to be added to Japan House, located in the Arboretum at the University of Illinois.

Doors open 6:30pm for General Admission, show starts 7:00pm. Please have your e-ticket and a valid form of ID that matches the name of the ticket to check in for entry.

General Admission: Student, $30.00; Non-student, $45.00

Reserved VIP Seating + After Show Meet & Greet: $125.00 (limited quantities available) - VIP admission includes a seat for the comedy show. Details for VIP seating and meet & greet will be privately shared with VIP ticket holders closer to the date.

Mr. Nick Offerman is best known for his role as Ron Swanson on the NBC hit comedy series "Parks and Recreation," and recently starred in "The Last of Us." In addition to his acting career, Mr. Offerman is a well-known author of numerous best-selling books and woodworker who founded Offerman Woodshop in Los Angeles. Offerman is a native of Minnoka, IL and graduate from the University of Illinois in Theatre in 1993. As a Theatre student, Offerman enrolled in classes taught by Professor Shozo Sato, founder of Japan House. The two have remained close, and Offerman continues to honor his Sensei through his generous support.

Japan House is overwhelmed by Nick’s generosity and continued longtime support of our mission and efforts to share traditional Japanese Arts and Culture in our community, and our campus. Japan House shares their deepest gratitude to Nick for his friendship and kindness. Japan House also thanks this community and campus for embracing cultural diversity and for their eagerness to expand their understanding of the world in which we live.

This is a generous fundraiser for the University of Illinois College of Fine + Applied Arts Japan House Ogura-Sato Annex.

Tickets and seating are first-come, first-serve. If you have accessibility needs or other questions, please send your inquiries to japanhouse@illinois.edu.

Refunds must be requested a minimum of 7 days prior to the end of ticket sales. Please note that EventBrite fees are non-refundable. If you are unable to attend, we ask that you consider making this a donation to Japan House. Ticket transfers must be officially requested through EventBrite. Please do not use third party vendors or sources to acquire tickets - sales, refunds, and transfers will only be accepted through EventBrite. Space permitting, in-person ticket sales (exact cash or credit card) will be available on the day of at Foellinger Auditorium.
