Join the Counseling Center staff at the end of Suicide Prevention Week to discuss the importance of promoting mental well-being in times of distress. Learn how to be unapologetic in asking for what you need to take control of your mental health and set healthy boundaries for self-care.

About the Speakers:

Amy Wiedmann has been a member of the University of Illinois’s Counseling Center triage team for the past three years. She has a wide range of expertise in areas of suicide prevention, crisis management and advocacy.

Emily Barnum is the Assistant Director of Clinical Services at the University of Illinois Counseling Center. Emily has clinical interests in trauma, identity development, sexual health, and advocacy work.

This lecture is part of the Fall 2021 DISH IT UP series, "Unapologetic". Featuring a lineup of fiercely unapologetic women, the Women's Resources Center invites you to hear from individuals making change across career fields and communities. As the world continues to fight multitudes of oppression, our speakers will shine light on what authenticity, confidence, and truth can look like from a variety of experiences. Funded by the Student Cultural Programming Fee.  FREE LUNCH will be available at this talk.
