DFT is now used in at least 50,000 scientific papers each year. This talk will review the state of the art of modern DFT, both in materials science and chemistry. I will look at the good, the bad, and the ugly. I will end by discussing functionals being found by machine-learning. It should be accessible to anyone with a background in quantum mechanics.
