Joesphson junctions are a main component of superconducting qubits, and are therefore important for the development of scalable quantum computing infrastructure. Two level systems (TLS) remain a major issue of scalability and can cause a myriad of issues in josephson junctions such as decoherence and extra loss. Despite the large problems that they pose, the microscopic sources of these defects is not well understood. This talk introduces a methodology to hopefully better understand and contribute to the reduction of TLS density.
