David Wisher of the Urbana Fire Department will discuss the prevention of fires and other emergencies, how to be prepared for laboratory emergencies, and how to respond in case of an emergency. He will provide an account of the series of events that could unfold, from the 911 call all the way to hazardous materials spill or exposure mitigation and underscore the importance of the preparation and familiarization with emergency procedures.
David Wisher is a Fire Prevention Officer at the Urbana Fire Department, with over 32 years of service. He spent 26 years in the Urbana FD, retiring as Captain. His certifications include Fire Inspector, Hazardous Materials Technician, and Technical Rescue Technician.
