Join us for a special screening of Can’t Go Native?, a 2011 film by David Plath, followed by a conversation with his grandson/film collaborator Isaac Napell (So Long Asleep) and Illinois colleagues Robert Tierney, Roderick Wilson, and Jason Finkelman.

“Can’t Go Native?” takes a personal look at anthropologist Keith Brown’s life-long relationship with the people of Mizusawa in rural Japan over a half a century. (Produced and directed by David Plath. 2011. 56 minutes.)

The event is free and open to the public. Friends, families and colleagues are welcome and encouraged to join the conversation.
