Grainger College of Engineering, All Events

Students from every discipline of engineering set up exhibits to remind the general public of the role that science plays in everyday life and to show the difference that technology will make in the future. Sponsoring awards and competitions, corporations that push the boundaries of science today also make an appearance. Primary and secondary schools also bring young students in hopes of passing the spirit of engineering to the next generation. When our young innovators meet the experienced engineers they strive to become and the children following in their footsteps, Engineering Open House begins.

Did you attend Engineering Open House when you were a child - long before you ever dreamed of becoming an Illini, or maybe because that dream had already started to take shape? Either way, we'd love to hear from you! We're inviting past EOH attendees, participants, and Illinois alumni to share their favorite Engineering Open House memories with us so we can celebrate and share them with the Grainger Engineering community. Whether it's a story that still makes you smile or a moment that sparked your love for engineering, we want it all - and if there are too many memories to type, photo and video submissions are more than welcome!  

There are several ways to get involved during EOH this year. We hope you'll participate in one or more ways!

Exhibit Judge
If you are interested in volunteering, consider being a judge for the EOH exhibits. Judging will take place on Friday, April 10th from 8 a.m. - 5 p.m. across the Illinois Grainger Engineering campus and will give judges the opportunity to engage with students and their latest engineering projects. Learn more about judging and submit the interest form by Saturday, February 28th.

Alumni Panel
The Alumni Panel is an incredible opportunity for young students to get to talk to alumni and get some perspective on life after college, career paths, and how they can make the most of their time at the U. of I. The 90-minute event will be held in the afternoon on April 10th. Full details will be available soon. Submit the interest form by Sunday, March 1st if you are interested in joining an alumni panel. 

Alumni Coffee Chats
Alumni coffee chats return for another year! Students can have personalized conversations with alumni where they can seek specific advice on career paths, industry trends, and more in a more casual setting. Submit the interest form by Sunday, March 1st if you are interested in the alumni coffee chats.
